A small editorial commission from back in the 1990s about a new sat-nav system or something like it. Yes, I am old enough to have lived in a world before public access to location services like GPS, where not getting lost often depended on either being able to read a map (paper, natch) or else politely asking a stranger for directions. Mind you, back then strangers knew *how* to give directions... maybe because everybody was getting lost all the time.
