Another illustration from one of several pages for Book of Pages that never made it into the final story (drawn sometime around 1991). This one is “Fabricating Food for Thought”, and some of the ideas here ended up in “Fast Food” (p.14 of the final book) instead. This is an unfinished drawing: the scene beyond the glass behind Jiriki is missing. This happened where I wanted to reference the scene from the pages immediately before or after the one I was illustrating, but I wasn’t sure which pages those were because the final order would depend on (as well as other things) how the illustrations looked next to each other. Such is the inevitable chicken-and-eggness of working on projects that are as deeply intertwingled as Book of Pages was.
