These pictures were taken backstage as we prepared the first shipment of pre-ordered copies of The Knot-Shop Man.
The hands you see in the video are those of author Dave and heroic volunteer Jonathan Whiteland. Actual elapsed time: about 1 min 30s. This was filmed after we had tied around 30, so we were getting quicker. But not this quick.
Although her fingers don’t appear in this film, over half of the sets were actually tied with the other pair of hands belonging to Louise Furneaux instead of Jonathan. Louise also demonstrated that it is perfectly possible to tie this knot on your own. But it is easier with two pairs of hands, especially if you want to get it done quickly.
